“Female Activism and Representation at UNC: A Study”
“Female Activism and Representation at UNC: A Study” is an essay I wrote for English 105, as we were instructed to explore a group we identify with and create an argument. Using the archival records of the Wilson Library and studies done on statistics of Student Body Presidents across the country, I found a staggering difference in the number of male Presidents versus female presidents. Despite these differences, I was able to prove that female groups and activists on UNC’s campus have made dramatic positive changes for female students over the years.
“The Sophoclean Hero”
“The Sophoclean Hero” is an essay I wrote for my first-year seminar, Classics 55 exploring the narrative of heroes in the tragic plays by Sophocles in comparison to the heroes of “The Illiad” by Homer. In this class, we read works by the two authors in addition to Virgil and wrote two-page essays on each work, studying the differences between the authors and the myths of ancient Greece and the mysterious Troy.
Photography
Photography has always been a passion of mine, and although I treat it only as a hobby, it has always brought me joy to capture the beauty of the world and share it. I tend to stick to taking pictures of the outdoors such as beautiful trees, sunsets, and more. Since being a student at UNC I have accumulated many pictures of the beauty of campus. Below you can find just a few photos I’ve taken this semester.
